On Maundy Thursday we celebrate one of the most pivotal days in the life of Jesus Christ. There are 3 aspects to it: Jesus gives a new command, to love as He loved as he washes his disciples’ feet. Secondly he gives of Himself as food and drink by becoming the Passover lamb in the Eucharist which he institutes; and thirdly, is the priesthood instituted and given charge of celebrating the Eucharist so that He would always be with us.
