Nov 2nd Sacramental Program

On the 2nd of November 55 children came from 4 different parishes namely St Francis de Sales (Island Bay), St Bernard (Brooklyn), St Joseph (Mt Victoria) and St Anne (Newton) to undergo their sacramental program which began with a couple of actions songs proclaiming that every single cell in our body is happy and well because of Jesus. It was followed by a skit bringing about the Eucharist is in essence where Jesus is truly present. The energetic Irene Chia finally taught the children that “when we receive Jesus, we become Jesus and in turn we share Jesus.” We pray that this seed of faith will be sown deep their hearts and that as they grow each day, they become more like Jesus growing up to be prophets, kings and priests in the years to come!

October Worship Night

God showed His Faithfulness upon us this very evening (31.10.2014) as we gathered at St Gerard's Church to worship God as one Body of Christ. A great sense of freedom in the Spirit was felt, reminding all of God's greatness and the gift of family each one has been bestowed with. Archbishop John Dew was the speaker of the evening and the topic was "The Power of Family prayer.
This topic drew many from various parishes around Wellington, who came with anticipation and excitement. He shared his experience at the recent Bishops Synod in Rome about matters and issues in family life that were discussed. He shared that we learn to respond to His unfailing Love and encouraged parents to be role models. A family that prays together stays together… We pray that this evening is the beginning of a courageous and heroic response from all who were present so that we play our part in the renewal and restoration of families in New Zealand.

Another Priestly Ordination

On the 26th of July 2014, in the beautiful church of St. Lourdes, Bangalore (India), there was great rejoicing in the heavens as the ICPE Mission Community joyfully gathered to celebrate yet another ordination in the ICPE Mission Community!

A few words from Fr. Francis in memory of that special day “The day of my ordination in the Church of St.Lourdes, Bangalore on the 26th of January was one of the memorable and sacred moments of my life. As I lay prostrate before the altar with the choir singing the Litany of the Saints in Latin, I felt a tangible union of the 'Celestial' and the 'Earthly'. As the Archbishop placed his hands upon me and pronounced the words of consecration, I am unable to articulate my feelings as I realized that my dream had finally become a reality! All I can say is Jesus who is faithful met me in my brokenness, picked me up and moulded me into His servant Priest to serve His flock worldwide. Blessed be the name of Jesus!"

July 2014 Worship Night

A chilly winter night warmed up for the ones who attended our July Worship Night. They were grateful for the night as they brought home with them a conviction of Jesus’ faithfulness and Love.
We experienced a tangible sense of security and protection with the Lord's angel armies on duty. We were reassured with a very personal and intimate message "My child, I am with you."
Andy Lovell from Jesus 4 Real Ministries engaged the congregation as he shared on the theme "Discipleship" doing so through his own testimony. He encouraged all present, to build and deepen their relationship with Jesus has taught us and to share this with others.

On the feast of the Sacred heart, we were blessed with a night of worship and reverence in the real and tangible Presence of Our Lord Jesus as we witnessed God's faithfulness in the presence of around a 100 people at St. Gerard's. Many experienced God's healing presence during the anointed time of adoration. His Most Sacred Heart was made visible in the Blessed Sacrament. His Presence was made tangible in the reverence of the congregation. His Sweetness was poured into our hearts through worship!

On June 25th, we had a beautiful day as we began to witness at the Eucharistic Celebration the beginning of a courageous journey of 4 young men - Alex (India), Jokin (India), Patrick (Nigeria) and Kyle (USA) - who aspire to be the priests of God for the ICPE Mission. We were graced with the presence of Archbishop John Dew (Archdiocese of Wellington) along with 9 priests to con-celebrate this Eucharist. The presence of the congregation, from near and far, has added to the significance of this Mass. Let us keep them in our prayers and may their courageous step taken in responding to God's calling inspire us to also do our part in serving the Kingdom of God.
